About the event
New show from the Montreal Opera and La Gang à Rambrou presented on June 15 and 16 at the Maison de la Culture Mercier.
The story takes place in 1968, when the feminist movement was taking off.
Giorgio Germont, a wealthy entrepreneur and owner of a spaghetti factory, sees his traditional values confronted by his three children. His eldest, to whom he wishes to leave his factory, is a young poet who falls in love with a cabaret dancer. His daughter falls in love with a Haitian prince and his other son wants to marry a medical student and wants to stay at home to take care of the children. Georgio is upset by his children's choices. He confides in his great friend Francesco and he makes him an unexpected and surprising confession that will make him sick. Fortunately, Sofia, his future daughter-in-law, will intervene, but will he survive?
